The SC&E Committee’s Vision is: We would like to be the Best Neighborhood in America.

Chair: Lynne Strong-Shinozaki

We see this happening through several avenues. We want to help people on the island get to know each other, have events for families, singles, couples, young and old, to celebrate the community’s diversity and add to the enjoyment of this beautiful place. We believe if we can bring people together we will create a greater sense of community. We are at a crossroad where we need to integrate the residents in our newer building complexes, meshing newer and older residents. We look forward to hosting events that help people meet each other.

We also envision these events as creating fundraising opportunities for RIRA: RIRA would receive a percentage of the vendors’ profits from selling food etc. In this way we can generate a modicum of income for the organization to produce other events in the future. When appropriate we would like to fulfill this vision by partnering with RIOC, the various Housing Managements, and local businesses to create community collaboration.
