On November 6, 2012, Roosevelt Islanders went to the polls to elect resident representatives for President and Vice-President of the Roosevelt Island Residents Association (RIRA) and individual building members of RIRA's Common Council.

In a continuing effort to bring democratic governance to Roosevelt Island, three nominees for appointment to the Board of Directors of the Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation (RIOC) were also elected on November 6, 2012.
