The 2016 Roosevelt Island Cherry Blossom Festival

posted Apr 25, 2017, 8:11 AM by Admin Rira   [ updated Apr 25, 2017, 8:15 AM ]

In the shadow of the groves of the sakura, or cherry blossom trees, the Roosevelt Island Residents Association is thrilled to welcome residents, friends and visitors to admire their beauty and bask in the joy of spring.

It is the tradition of the Japanese people to celebrate the arrival of spring, a time of renewal. At this time, it is appropriate to appreciate the fleeting nature of life, given that the blossoms are in bloom for a very brief period.
